By downloading, installing, or using PauseMate ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and PauseMate ("we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the App and any related services.
PauseMate is a mindfulness-based screen time awareness app for iOS. It creates gentle pauses before you open apps you find distracting, using Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks. The App is designed to promote intentional device usage through breathing exercises, reflection prompts, and timed delays.
PauseMate does not block apps. It creates a brief moment of awareness before apps open. You are always in control and can choose to proceed at any time.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use PauseMate. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.
PauseMate requires iOS 17.4 or later. You are responsible for ensuring your device meets the minimum system requirements.
You agree to use PauseMate only for its intended purpose. You agree not to:
PauseMate offers both free and premium features. Premium features require an active subscription.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period, and we will notify you in advance through the App.
PauseMate, including its design, code, content, name, logo, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
PauseMate is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You may stop using PauseMate at any time by deleting the App from your device. All locally stored data will be permanently removed when you uninstall the App.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. In the event of termination, the provisions regarding Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law shall survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
